Easy Card Tricks – The Needle In a Haystack Card Trick

There are many articles on doing easy card tricks, I won’t bore anyone with an introduction but instead give you the first of a series of easy card tricks – these can be learned in minutes and mastered in hours, this means you’ll be able to do them anytime, anywhere and with full confidence.

You will not need anything except a deck of cards and the motivation to excel. By the way, some people will try to convince you that you need special equipment or things like 101 tuition. This is simply not true and the most interesting and reliable card tricks are the ones that are easy, have a quick payoff and can be done with a minimum of preparation and props (like using you friend’s deck of cards at a party).

And another thing, how can people say these are easy card tricks if you need to watch videos, and buy props and books to understand them. So, the first of the easy card tricks that I am going to show to you is called:

easycardtricks10

The Needle In A haystack Card Trick

!!! don’t just read, grab a pack of cards and follow along, if you don’t you’re likely to just read the trick and then forget it – doing this easy card trick even once will move it into a special part of your memory and you may find yourself in a suitable situation and just saying: “Hey, let me show you guys something”

1.       Borrow a deck of cards; note the card on top of the deck and remove the three other cards that have the same number. ex: on the top of the deck is the 7 of spades, you remove the other three 7’s and place them in front of three participating audience members.

2.       Have the three participants choose between the three 7’s. They are to choose a card, look at it without anyone else seeing it, and then place it on the table in front of them.

3.       Tell the first participant to choose a number between 1 and 10. From the top of the deck you then deal that many cards, face down, one at a time, and then put them back on top. Don’t try to understand, follow the steps and you’ll get it when you reach the end of the card trick. ex: the guy says 4 so you deal out 4 cards, then put them back on top of the deck (the 7 of spades is now the 4th card from the top).

4.       Tell the second person to say a number between 11 and 20; let’s say he says 12. You deal out 12 cards, one at a time, face down, from the top of the deck. You then take these and put them back on top of the card pack (the 7 is now the 9th card from the top).

5.       You ask the last person for the difference between the first and second spectators number. In this case: “Now friend_name, what is the difference between 12 and 4”. He will say 8, and you deal out 8 cards, one at a time, face down, from the top of the deck. The ninth card will be the 7 of spades, the original top card.

6.       You ask each of the participants which one of their cards they think matches the unrevealed ninth card: “So, friend name, do you think your card matches this one here”

7.       You turn over the ninth card and, surprise, all their cards match this one. In this example this is because they all have 7’s.

8.       Practice your showmanship.

From the audiences perspective it will look like this: You, taking a borrowed deck and removing three cards, then three participants choosing between any of the three. The first participant offers a number and is dealt than number of cards. The second one offers a number and is dealt that number of cards. The third is asked the difference between the first and second and is dealt that number of cards. One more card is dealt and placed on the table.

To everyone’s  surprise as each of the three participants cards is turned over it matches the one placed on the table. There you have it, the first in a series of easy card tricks you can perform anywhere you’ve got a deck.

TIPS: You can perform this card trick for just two people, simply take the third card and place it back in the pack after the two participants have each chosen a card – same for one person. When you shuffle through the cards at the start of the card trick you can pretend it’s because you want to take out the jokers. You can spread out the cards on the table at the start of this easy card trick so that you can see the top card without it appearing suspicious. If you like this trick feel free to contribute with extra tips and variations.

All the magical best,

Damian

Easy Card Tricks – The Jedi Mind Trick Card Trick

Oh, the horror, the absolute pain. I know what you are going through — so many days and not a single new trick. The pain will now be quenched me dear easy card tricks fans. The time is yet again upon us to learn magic card tricks. So, get that pack of cards out, I know it’s kept close at hand by now, and let’s jump back into our easy card tricks series.

Today another blissfully easy one, again included in the kids magic tricks category, BUT this is also a street magic tricks category member – why, because you can do it on the street :) .

To the sounds of scotish bagpipes I now unveil, To YOU:

Easy Card Tricks

Easy Card Tricks

The Jedi Mind Trick Card Trick !

I know I don’t have to tell you again…BUT,

get that deck of cards out and follow along with me as I explain the trick. Seriously, you’ll understand it better and memorize it at the same time. My telekinetic powers will reach out to you from the screen and impress upon YOU the importance of this. Just do it. You’ll thank me later. !

Perform this trick to a single person at a time. It’s more effective that way.

Phase 1. Grab your deck, find all the 7’s and move them on top.

ex “Hey friend_name want me to prove that magic is real. Come over here and let me show you something.” – arrange cards as you’re saying this, or you can prepare ahead of time.

Personally, I like tricks I can do on the spot, so any preparation that must be done I am able to do in front of the audience — an audience can be just one person you know.

NOTE: Pretend you are taking out the jokers as you arrange the 7’s to the top.

Phase 2. Pretend to shuffle the cards. Keep the 7’s on top though.

ex “First off. Clear your mind, make it a blank slate. I know it won’t be hard for You.”

NOTE: You can do this shuffle by holding the pack in your left hand, grabbing cards from the bottom with the right and mashing them into the middle. TIP: You can make him/her close his/her eyes here.

Phase 3. Give the four sevens on top of the deck to the volunteer — by know he won’t have a clue that you have arranged them.

ex: “Take these cards. I have impregnated them with some of my awareness so that they may sense your mind. Do not look at them, just hold them close to your heart.”

NOTE: blow on the cards before you hand them over (for added effect) and also fan them out when he/she places them over his/her heart.

Phase 4. Inform that you are now going to ask a series of questions and that these should be answered as fast as possible — this is the key of our little mind trick

ex: “I will now probe your mind with a series of questions. Answer them fast, one after the other. Ready? Let’s go.”

Phase 5. Ask these questions fast, one after the other.

ex: “What is 1 plus 1?” — the trickee will answer 3 (kidding, he’ll say 2)

“What is 2 plus 2?” — 4

“What is 4 plus 4?” — 8

“What is 8 plus 8?” — 16

“A number between 12 and 5?” — over 90% of people will say 7

Phase 6. When they say 7 take the phaned out 7’s and show them to him/her.

NOTE: If they don’t say 7 tell them: “You have a mind that is too embeded in the physical world and it has lost it’s magical sensitivities. BUT wait, let me try something else with you” and move on to a different trick.

Phase 7. Look at them silently and let the trick sink in.

Phase 8. Move on to another trick. Don’t show them how this is done. We need a little magic in our lives even if we know it isn’t true.

ex: “Your mind is wise to the ways of the future. But will it be so in this next case?” — introduce next trick. Don’t know a next trick? Check out this one: Easy Card Tricks – The High School Party Card Trick

This is it!

All the magical best,

Damian

PS: I am having trouble categorizing this, where would you include it: easy card tricks, kids magic tricks, street magic tricks or all of them ?

PS2: Add your own suggestions, tips, tricks and other variations in the comments area. I appreciate people that contribute.

Easy Card Tricks – The Highschool Party Card Trick

Welcome to the next installment of my easy card trick series – soon to be available by email for convenience (daily, twice weekly or weekly – your choice). Today I have for you a card trick that easy card tricks enthusiasts will clamor for, simply because it requires no skill – it is simply a function of math. However, as I demonstrate in this brilliantly crafted introduction, it does require copious amounts of: “Showmanship”.

So, in the sounds of thundering bagpipes and unvisualizable college level word juggling, I give TO YOU:

Card Trick

Card Trick

The High School Party Card Trick:

!!! follow along with the instructions,  don’t read the trick beforehand as you’ll be robbing yourself of its enjoyment.

1.    Grab a pack of cards and take out the jacks, the queens (doesn’t THE queens sound gay?) , the kings and the aces.

2.    Put the jacks in a row, side by side, with their pretty faces showing. Theatrically inform your audience that four high school boys decided to have a party.

3.    Say: “they didn’t have any booze so they each called their older brother out to help out”. Don’t say the stuff out loud if you’re alone, you’ll just feel silly. While you’re saying this place one king on top of each jack.

4.    Say: “but of course, a party ain’t a party without the girls”. Put a queen on top of each of the kings. You know have 4 piles, each with a jack at the bottom, a king on top of that and then a queen.

5.    Say: “like any good party they had too much to drink and it got out of hand” – it’s no wonder though, the poor saps didn’t know any easy card tricks to keeps themselves amused while drinking. “so the cops came …” (while saying this place an ace on each pile) “and picked them all up” (you now take all the piles and place them on top of each other) NOTE: as a result of this you will have a sequence of J, K, Q, A, J, K, Q, A, J, …. you get it, in the pile.

6 Say: “in the car they got into a bit of a scuffle” and cut the deck. Ask your audience to also cut your deck, as many times as you want, really build the moment. BUT, make sure they don’t shuffle the cards.

7.    Say:  ”despite all of this, the drinking, the police, the fighting…” – while saying this you deal the cards into four piles with their faces down – “the highschoolers, the college boys, the girls and the cops” – flip each pile to reveal that the kings are in the same pile, the aces are in the  same pile etc. “all got to their homes alright”.

8.    Pause for applause.

Now, if this isn’t a worthy member of the easy card tricks series I think you just might be a zombie.

In fact, it’s so easy I’m going to include it in the kids magic tricks category as well.

I hold for applause and I’m out.

Damian

PS: as always … (well, not really – this is the first time I ever said this) great suggestions and grand showmanship examples will be promoted to the top of the comments. Not sure how I am going to do this, but you just comment and let me figure this stuff out.

TIPS: shuffle the jacks, queens, kings but not the aces before starting the trick – this doesn’t do anything, it’s just a distraction.

The Fushigi Gravity Ball

The fushigi magic gravity ball has got to be one of the coolest things ever offered on late night television. The commercials are amazing. At first you are not even quite sure what you are looking at. Is it a toy or trick? Well, first things first. The fushigi is a little bit of both.

After going completely nuts for this thing I tried to research it online but I could not even remember the silly name. I’m sure a lot of others are having the same problem. Eventually I was able to find very similar products when searching for contact juggling. Contact juggling is an art form that was invented back in the 80’s and has been astonishing people ever since. It is truly a performance art but the advent of the fushigi intends to change that.

So I finally figured out how to order one,and I received my Contact Juggling Ball and then got started. It was much lighter than I expected and I could began to understand some the the illusive properties right away. There is an interior ball which is metallic so when it is in motion it looks more like a magic trick. Definitely cooler than a plain acrylic contact juggling ball.
The Fushigi comes with an instructional DVD which has a lot of great info, but I quickly realized that you can do these tricks with an ordinary ball. It will not look as cool and the element of floating will not be present, but once you master the basics you can contact juggle with anything. Having said that, I’m glad I got my fushigi because it is awesome.

Learning how to contact juggle is not hard but it takes lots of patience and a ton of practice. The people in the demonstration videos are experts so don’t think you are gonna open the box and turn in Houdini. But, learning the basic moves is relatively simple and it is thrilling to complete your first trick.

There is not a human alive who isn’t amazed when they see someone using the Fushigi Ball As Seen On TV so do not learn this if you don’t want to be the center of attention. It is amazing how people both young and old are drawn to the product and I would not be surprised if it is the next fad that has people in a rush to get them by Christmas.

To date, you can only order this product online because you will not find fushigi in stores. So if you choose to get one, be sure to give yourself ample time for its arrival. There are definitely other acrylic contact juggling balls out there but the good ones are more than twice the price of Fushigi. In my opinion this product is terrific for beginners and at its current price is a heck of a deal.

Access useful things to know about the topic of cheap playstation 3 console – make sure to go through this page. The time has come when proper info is really within your reach, use this possibility.
